Founded in 1950, California Baptist University (CBU) is a private Christian school with 100% Christian faculty and staff. It is located on a 128 acre campus in the city of Riverside, just 60 miles east of Los Angeles. The university provides its students with a liberal arts education in a Christian environment. The school has the unique distinction of being the only Southern Baptist college or university on the West Coast.
Widely known for its academic excellence, the university offers classes both on campus and online. There are 90 undergraduate majors and concentrations and 25 graduate majors and credentials. The school has a rolling admissions policy without set deadlines for admission applications. The blue and gold Lancers are members of the Golden State Athletic Conference and they participate in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. Some of the sports that students actively engage in include baseball, basketball, cheerleading, golf, swimming, and volleyball.
