Students seeking admission must complete the application form available online and send it in with a detailed resume reflecting previous occupational experience. Applicants must send official transcripts of all previously attended college or University coursework. You can send personal copies or photocopies for review. However, the official transcripts are required prior to the formal acceptance.

International students can also apply. The students who have completed coursework from institutions outside of the United States must have their official transcripts pre-evaluated by anyone of the recognized foreign credential evaluation services which include Academic Evaluation Services, Inc; Josef Silny & Associates, Inc; Foreign Educational Document Service; SpanTran Educational Services, Inc; and International Consultants of Delaware, Inc.

Students whose first language is not English must take the TOEFL (The Test of English as a Foreign Language) test to prove English proficiency. Alternatively, a student can complete 30 semester hours at a recognized institute in a country where English is the first language. A completed associate’s, bachelor’s degree from any accredited U.S. college or university will also suffice.

Financial Aid

Financial aid is offered to eligible students through the veteran educational benefits programs. There are several types of programs that offer educational benefits and financial aid to those who are unable to bear the education costs. Some of the veteran benefits programs include Montgomery GI Bill – Active Duty (MGIB), a federally funded program administered by Department of Veterans Affairs for the educational development of service members.

Montgomery GI Bill – Selected Reserve (MGIB-SR) is a program available to the selected reserve, which include Navy Reserve, Army Reserve, Marine Corps Reserve and Coast Guard Reserve, Air Force Reserve, the Army National Guard and the Air National Guard. Through this program, the students may be permitted to receive up to 36 months of veteran benefits.

Montgomery GI Bill Kicker is an educational benefit that applies only to the specific units or Military Occupational Specialties (MOSs). The MOSs program is considered a motivation for the soldiers. The soldiers must however meet the eligibility requirements and sign a valid contract to qualify for the benefits. Some of the other veteran benefits include Veterans Education Assistance Program (VEAP), Survivors’ and Dependents’ Educational Assistance Program (DEA), and Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment Services.

Students who are not in the military and need assistance can opt in one of two payment plans. Plan A allows the student to pay $500 in the beginning and then $100 per month. Plan B allows a payment of $300 at first and then $150 per month.

Students

The school offers a comprehensive ‘Study Guide’ for each course. These course materials are designed to organize and sequence the learning materials for the student. These ‘Study Guides’ are based on the specific college-level textbooks and supply a complete syllabus for each course. They also include the instructional materials to guide students through the corresponding textbooks.

The CCU structure also presents a Challenge Examination, which allows a student to challenge a specific course by finishing a multiple choice examination covering the entire content of the academic course. It is similar in format to a final examination. The master’s degree students have the alternative of developing a Thesis or substituting any three additional graduate level courses in their major to accomplish this requirement.

Library:

There is a rental library through which students can borrow books and reference materials related to their specific degree or course. The text books can be rented at a nominal cost. The Alumni Association also maintains a library of textbooks required for the present version of all online courses. Students can also buy textbooks from the various online sources. Students may order the books and materials through e-mail, mail, fax, phone, or on-line at the CCU web site. At a time, students can order no more than two books.

Publication:

The university has its own E-Newsletter that will keep you updated about the latest additions or changes going on at the University.

Testing Center:

The school is also designated as an open national testing center for various tests such as DANTES Subject Standardized Tests (DSST), the College Level Examination Program (CLEP®), Miller Analogies Test (MAT), Pearson VUE and Thomson Prometric. The Test Center is situated at the Administrative Offices of the University. In order to take these tests, students must first get an appointment.

Honor Society:

The Distance Education and Training Council (DETC) Board of Trustees, in collaboration with the President of the Alpha Beta Kappa National Honor Society, founded the Delta Epsilon Tau (DET) International Honor Society in the year 1997.
