Chase College
Introduction
Chase College is a private, for-profit educational institution located on Wilshire Boulevard in the heart of Los Angeles, California. It offers short-term programs that last for under two years meant to prepare individuals for entry-level positions in medical, technical, massage and business education. Chase is a member of the Occupational Education group comprised of private, non degree-granting institutions that are predominantly organized to educate and prepare students in trades, occupations and technical careers.

This mantra is reflected in the professional environment of the campus and the presence of instructors with real-world, in-field work experience. Chase’s curriculum is specifically designed to meet the wants and needs of employers as well as teach life skills.

Chase College is located in Los Angeles, California, the second largest city in the United States. With an estimated population of nearly four million, Los Angeles covers an area of almost 500 square miles.
Founded in 1781 by Spanish governor Felipe de Neve, Los Angeles today is best known as the home of most American and world media entertainment, including television, film and music. It is, however, also a thriving center of business, industry, trade, culture, media, technology, education and communication. Perhaps nowadays best known as the home of Hollywood movie studios and stars, L.A. is a thriving economic capital of the world.
Los Angeles is among the most diverse cities in the United States. Caucasian Americans make up less than 50% of all Los Angeles residents. The Hispanic population is a strong force in Los Angeles that continues to grow. The median income per household is around $36,687 annually, though a wide range of economic classes are present. Students at chase are a reflection of the diversity present in Los Angeles itself.
Students at Chase also come to appreciate the Los Angeles weather, which is known for being beautiful year-round. Los Angeles residents do, however, face a good amount of smog and environmental pollution. As of late, forest fires have become problematic as well.
The economy of Los Angeles is driven by a number of fields, including international trade, entertainment, technology, petroleum and tourism. L.A. is also the largest manufacturing center in the western part of the United States. Law, healthcare and finance are also important fields in the area.
Students at Chase College receive their certificates well-prepared for entry-level positions in many of these fields and may later choose to continue their education to grow in a more specific area (there are several top notch schools throughout the city). What the super-urban setting of Los Angeles, California provides for Chase students is a thriving job market for which their skills are very much needed. Furthermore, the location of Chase will allow them to work within this market while completing their studies.
Alumni
Chase College has quite a small student body, reporting between 200 and 300 students annually. The individuals who choose to study at Chase are a diverse group who very much reflect the surrounding Los Angeles community. Chase students’ wide range of cultures and backgrounds enrich classroom dynamics and learning.
All students at Chase College are commuters, as the institution offers no student housing. The facilities at Chase are up-to-date but limited — for example, there is no food service.
Many Chase students hold full-time jobs and attend classes at night or on weekends. The urban location of Chase allows students to work in their chosen fields while studying, applying the education they are receiving simultaneously while working. Chase’s central location in Los Angeles is easy for students to access from several points in the LA metropolitan area.
