ICDC College Academics

ICDC College allows students to earn associate’s degrees and fast-track diplomas. The college offers educational options at 4 campuses: Los Angeles Main Campus, Van Nuys Branch Campus, Huntington Park Branch Campus, and Lawndale Branch Campus. Each of the campuses features state-of-the-art laboratories and classrooms along with resource centers and student libraries. ICDC College offers fast-paced programs that meet the constantly changing needs of today’s businesses. Students receive focused instruction in a specific area of focus.

One of the most amazing things about this school is that it gives students freedom that other schools do not. ICDC does not require that students have a high school diploma for some of the programs. Many of the accredited programs do require a diploma, but that does not prevent students who do not have a high school diploma from entering the program because the college also offers complimentary GED classes for students who wish to earn a high school diploma. The service costs students nothing except time and dedication. Students also benefit from the individual attention from instructors. There is never a worry that hundreds of students sit in one class with one instructor to work toward earning a degree or certificate. The smaller settings help students to achieve educational goals and build personal relationships with classmates and instructors. Instead of a few hundred students per class, there are a few hundred students per campus, which makes a big difference.

Students also benefit from the Job Placement Assistance program at ICDC College. Teachers do not teach students and then send students out into industries alone. This school helps students with every step of the employment process. The school offers an abundance of helpful program that get students results in the area of employment.

Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC) accredits ICDC College. The U.S. Department of Education recognizes this organization. This college offers many fast track diploma programs and associate’s degrees. A few of the fast track diploma programs include Alcohol & Drug Counseling, Homeland Security & Investigation, Massage Therapy, Business Office Administrator, Graphic/Web Developer, and Medical Assistant. The school also has several associate’s degree programs, including Paralegal, Healthcare Management, Business Management & Accounting, and Forensic Scientist.

This college offers a practice approach to a quality education. Graduates of these programs never have to worry about leaving a program and facing the world alone. ICDC College offers an employment preparation course to all students. Students gain skills in resume writing, finding employment, interview techniques, and other employment related skills. Another amazing thing about ICDC College is that many of the courses are offered online. It is very important to offer more than one mode of delivery to receive an education. Many individuals want to work and attend school. It may be virtually impossible for these people to attend school on campus. Online classes offer flexibility that traditional schooling options do not offer. Students have the option to learn 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Students can complete assignments from anywhere in the world.

ICDC College offers something else that other institutions do not offer. The online programs come equipped with all necessary textbooks, coursework, and even a brand new netbook. All of this is included in the cost of tuition. Providing a netbook makes earning a degree or certificate even easier. Students do not have to worry about borrowing a computer or waiting for computer access in a public library or some other public facility. This college offers a practical education and all the tools necessary to get an education.

Many of these programs exceed the number of hours required for certification. Students gain additional experience that makes graduates of ICDC College even more marketable because of the skill level. Externships are also necessary for certain certificates and degrees. Students leave ICDC College with a wealth of knowledge in a particular area of study. ICDC College offers unique opportunities for all military service members. This college is a huge supporter of helping military service members transition into wonderful employment opportunities. Upon enrollment into this college, military service members receive educational flexibility, a military benefits advisor, a military education representative, a student advisor, and job placement assistance. A student’s prior military educational training is carefully considered for credit in programs offered by ICDC College.

Once the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (Department of VA) establishes the eligibility of a student’s educational benefits, ICDC College begins helping students process the benefits. One of the benefits that veterans enjoy is Post 9/11 GI Bill benefits. Students get to apply for 9/11 benefits for tuition reimbursement. The Montgomery G.I. Bill (MGIB) offers up to 36 months of educational benefits to earn degrees and certificates. Students have 10 years after being released from active duty to use the benefits.

The Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment Service (VR&E). This program helps disabled military service members with service-connected disabilities and their dependants find employment. Permanently disabled service members and dependents of permanently disabled or deceased service members can earn a degree or certificate under the Survivor’s and Dependent’s Educational Assistance Program (DEA). The Reserve Educational Assistance Program (REAP) offers 36 months of educational benefits to Reservists.

ICDC College Admissions

The ICDC College admissions process is not as complex as other educational institutions. There is no long list of requirements and test scores that students need to get into ICDC College. The only requirement is that students must earn a high school diploma or GED to enroll in a few of the programs. Again, this is not a complex task because the college offers a complimentary GED classes for students that require this service. Students who need financial assistance to attend ICDC College must make sure that FAFSA forms are completed properly and in a timely manner. Students can get started by completing the “Change Begins Now” form on ICDC College’s website and a representative will make contact immediately, or students have the option to schedule a call to discuss enrolling into the college. Whatever the choice, students have peace of mind in knowing that a quality education is available whenever students are ready to begin.

Financial Aid

The FAFSA application is used by most educational institutions to determine a student’s eligibility for state, college-sponsored, and federal financial assistance. Students may qualify for a number of loans, work-study programs, and grants if a financial need exists. A few of agencies that offer financial assistance include Trade Readjustment Act, California Department of Rehabilitation, Tuition Benefits, Private Rehabilitation Agencies and Insurance Companies, The State Employment Development Department (EDD) Unemployment, and The GAIN Program. Students must meet the eligibility requirements to receive financial assistance from these agencies.

Work-Study programs and grants offer a way to earn an education with no further financial obligations after graduation. Loans offered by the federal government generally have lower interest rates than loans through private lenders do. Loans do require repayment but are a way to pay for an education when other options are not available to students. Students should consult ICDC College for information on additional options to finance an education. Opportunities come available every day for financial assistance for educational purposes. Many private organizations offer financial assistance that students may use toward an education at ICDC College. Student should contact ICDC College for questions about outside financial assistance.

If I had to do it all over again I would never go to this school nor will I ever tell a friend about this school.I am taking the dental lab tech class and wish I would of went else where. The so called teacher has her own agenda and that is to send you to a lab to work that treats you like your dumb and pay's you chicken feed. Why because she gets paid by the lab,she will claim she don't but all you have to do is read between the line's.If you kiss her butt she will get you a job with trident dental lab...how do you explain a student who is in the class for a month who she re-fers vs a student that has been there much longer. hello kiss her butt and get a low paying job. she does not even have you go to job service's she has you give her your resume and fax's it to them her self and contacts them to set up your interview but claims she gets nothing from the company. yea and I have a bridge to sell you.If your smart go to another school...... I wish I did my homework first......

Such a bad online school. Its not their fault though because they are new. The school has been around for 7 months or so. Their programs are 9 months, and the Associates are 2 years. So they have no graduates yet. Ask them if you can speak to their Job Placement Department. They will panic! Why? Because they don't have one yet. They haven't figured out how to place people in jobs yet! Thats the whole point of a career college, right? I left from the school as soon as I found this out. I always got the feeling that they are "winging" it. Go to a more experienced school with proven results, unless you're fine being a guinea pig. They also assign you a student advisor online, who does nothing but hound you when you don't log on. My advisor was Anthony and he was not helpful at all. I was just a number to him. Just another student. Ask for a different advisor if you get stuck with him. So much for the "freedom to log on when you'd like." They also send you a Mini Laptop, worth about $150... Its the saddest thing ever. They will try and sell you by telling you that you will get a laptop sent to you, and they send you the saddest excuse for a laptop ever. Its also one of the most expensive schools that there is. You go to a vocational school expecting to learn a career, however, this school will not do that for you. Far too expensive, staff that is never there, and an overall "money-hungry" attitude. Go elsewhere, no joke.

GOOD LUCK about 2 years ago GOOD LUCK

You cannot expect any school to make you a professional whatever in 9 months; if you did, you're disappointed. ICDC College can only open up the doors to a career field, each step we take is completely up to us; I don't think the school makes the students lazy, I think they're only trying to treat us as the adults we should be; I recently completed their paralegal course, but I don't intend to look for employment yet, I'd rather take the opportunity of putting my foot in the door at ease by doing internship hours, this way I'll have some background to offer an employer.

The Paralegal Program does not have instruction or any up to date material to use. For those students who are really eager to learn law, stay away from this school.

here's the thing with icdc it was a great opportunity for me they were very helpful and they were also able to help me with placement. if our dear friend juan who posted a bad comment would realize that they help you when you ask for it and also when you put your part in he and his friend would have been more succesful but if you are just lame and waiting for them to look for a job for you then its simple you ain't gonna get what you want because you give to easy. You cant expect for people todo the job for you. you gotta do it yourself!

Juan about 3 years ago Juan

If I had a chance to do it again, I wouldn't. Job placement was not helpfull at all, they reffered me and my friend to minimum wage jobs; and we ended up with a $10,000 debt.
