The Everest Institute system of colleges is comprised of over 90 campuses throughout the United States. Everest offers career training programs in business, technology, and health care.
The Jonesboro campus, formerly known as the Georgia Medical Institute, is located near Atlanta, Georgia.
Everest’s Jonesboro location specializes in short-term career training. Students may pursue vocational programs including:
- Massage Therapy
- Medical Assistant and Administrative Assistant
- Medical Insurance Billing and Coding
- Patient Care Technician
Students can receive hands-on training from dedicated and experienced instructors and participate in small group projects with other students. Priority is placed on providing students with real-world curricula, community relationships, and flexible class schedules that meet the needs of working adults. As such, the school offers day, evening, weekend, online, part-time and full-time classes.

Prospective students are encouraged to apply to Everest at any time throughout the year. Students must fill out a simple application form. Application essays or letters of recommendation are not a requirement, but students may wish to schedule a meeting with an admissions advisor and take a campus tour before applying to the school.
To gain admittance, applicants must have a high school diploma or GED or equivalent, successfully complete an assessment examination, and have a personal interview with an Admissions Officer. Some exceptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis, so students should contact the admissions office for further information.
An enrollment agreement must be completed prior to student entry at Everest Institute, and any student who has earned credit at another accredited institution must present an official transcript to the Education Department along with an application for transfer credit.
To begin the process of applying for financial aid, which may include student grants, loans, or work-study programs, students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to determine aid eligibility.
Jonesboro students are also encouraged to speak with a student financial aid representative. Institutional scholarships may be available for qualified students who qualify based on need or merit. All students are welcome to work with the Student Finance office.

Students are encouraged to seek assistance from the Student Services department for help in matters like finding public transportation to travel to and from campus and locating nearby child care facilities.
Tutoring services, internet access, a library, field trips and special lectures are all provided for students on campus, as are student activities like leadership and team building exercises.

Everest Institute students can receive career placement assistance services when they enroll in one of the school’s career programs. Current students and Everest graduates receive special access to special job search engines which help them discover new or improved professions after completion of their programs of study.
Career search advice such as job interview preparation, interview coaching, resume preparation, interview rehearsal, and interview wardrobe selection advice are among the services offered.
The Jonesboro location of Everest Institute is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges. It is authorized by the Nonpublic Postsecondary Educational Commission, and certified by the U.S. Department of Education.
Everest-Jonesboro has also been a deemed an Assigned School by the National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork.
