    University of Saint Francis, founded in 1890, is a private, coeducational institution affiliated with the Roman Catholic Church. The 74-acre campus is located in a suburban area in Central Fort Wayne. Total undergraduate and graduate enrollment is 2039.

    The Keith Busse School of Business and Entrepreneurial Leadership was founded in 1968 and is located on the main campus. The basic educational approach is a blend of theory and practice with strong emphasis on human perspective; technical knowledge is integrated with executive skills.

    Library

    The university’s main library houses a collection of more than 50,186 volumes and 2062 audio/video tapes/CDs, and subscribes to 549 periodicals. Students have access to such databases and networks as EBSCO, Business Source Premier, Corporate Resource Net, Health Business, and Regional Business News. Other opportunities for research consist of membership in a cooperative statewide library organization and several on-line databases.

    Computers

    Graduate business students need not have their own PCs. Available computer facilities consist of 404 networked computers available to all students.

    Career and Job Placement

    Placement services are limited, since most students are already employed full time. Placement services for alumni include career counseling and job search assistance. Placement is available through the university placement office.

    International Students

    International students must take the TOEFL. International students must score 550 on the Paper-Based TOEFL (PBT). They also must submit a translation of their transcripts and proof of adequate funds to cover 1 year of study. The application deadline for fall entry is rolling.

    Calendar

    The school operates on a traditional semester basis. Semesters are 15 weeks long; summer sessions, 6 weeks. Graduate programs are offered during the day and evening and weekends.

    A bachelor’s degree is required, along with a GPA of 2.7 and a GMAT score of 400. Most important admissions factors are undergraduate GPA, GMAT results, and academic accomplishments and ability. A strong mathematics background is not required.

    The number of applicants for the 2006-2007 class was 27; 21 were accepted; 17 enrolled. Transfers are accepted.

    Students may begin the MBA program in the fall, spring, and summer. To apply, students must submit an application form, a transcript, GMAT scores, and a nonrefundable application fee of $20. The application deadlines are May 1 for fall entry; September 15, spring. Students are notified of the admissions decision when all papers are received and evaluated. The latest acceptable test date for fall entry is June. Once accepted, students may defer admission but must begin the program within 12 months of acceptance.

    About 83% of graduate business school students receive financial aid from scholarships, loans, and graduate assistantships, for a total average of $10,285 annually. The FAFSA is required. The application deadline is rolling for fall entry. Students must submit applications prior to the end of the enrollment period for which they are requesting aid.

    Tuition for all students is $590 per credit, or $10,620 per year. On-campus room and board costs approximately $5834; books and supplies, $600; personal expenses, $200; and other fees, $436, for an estimated annual total of $17,690. Graduate student housing includes dormitories, but no married-student housing is available on campus.

Fifty-five percent are women and 9% are minorities. The average age at entrance is 32; ages range from 22 to 49. About 23% of entering students leave by the end of the first year due to academic or personal reasons; 77% remain to receive their degree. In a recent year, 15 graduate business degrees were awarded.
