Indiana University East is a regional campus in the Indiana University System. Indiana University East is organized into three schools and four divisions: Indiana University East hosts a branch of the Purdue University College of Technology. IUE’s campus lies on 174 acres (0.704 km²) of land on the northern edge of Richmond, Indiana, near Interestate 70. Indiana University East was formed in 1971 on 225 acres (0.911 km²) of land, purchased with community donations, on the northern edge of Richmond, Indiana, and received accreditation in 1975.
