Atlantic Union College (AUC), established in 1882, is located in South Lancaster, MA. The College is a four-year accredited, coeducational, liberal-arts institution with a number of professional and pre-professional programs, several alternative education programs, and a masters degree program in education. After being sold out of the Thayer family and having its furnishings sold at auction, Thayer Mansion was sold to AUC in 1943 at a cost of $12,500. Today the Music Department at Atlantic Union College is housed in this historic mansion, renamed the Thayer Performing Arts Center.
