Saint John’s University was founded by the Benedictine monks of Saint John’s Abbey in 1857. The College of Saint Benedict (CSB) and Saint John’s University (SJU) are partnered liberal arts colleges respectively located in St. Joseph and Collegeville, Minnesota. CSB, for women, and SJU, for men, are nationally recognized Catholic liberal arts colleges and ranked as two of the top three Catholic colleges in the nation. The combined enrollment of more than 3,800 students makes CSB/SJU the largest of the nation’s top 100 liberal arts colleges (as ranked in US News). The Benedicta Arts Center (BAC) of the College of Saint Benedict is a performing arts center on campus. The campus of Saint John’s University also houses the Saint John’s School of Theology and Seminary, a graduate institution which confers Master’s of Divinity and Master’s of Arts degrees.
