The Anthem Institute Parsippany, New Jersey, is one of 23 for-profit Anthem Education Group campuses in 14 states across the nation. In 1982 the Group got its start as the High-Tech Institute of Phoenix, Arizona, which operated over 20 career training schools across the country. When the Anthem Education Group was created in 2008, the schools all became part of the new education Group. The Anthem Education Group aims to provide students with practical, applicable, real-world training and knowledge. By emphasizing a hands-on education, they strive to not only educate students, but prepare them for rewarding careers.

Located along Route 46 East in Parsippany, New Jersey, Anthem Institute – Parsippany was established in 1981. With a focus on Health Care and Technology, the Anthem Institute Parsippany uses both classroom and coursework to instruct students in their chosen area of study, as well as training in realistic work environments and time spent in the field. Career-focused training diploma-awarding programs are offered in the areas of graphic design & animation, computer-aided drafting, computer networking & security, massage therapy, medical assistant and medical billing & coding. Anthem Institute Parsippany is also an authorized Pearson VUE information technology Certification Test Center.

Anthem Institute-Parsippany Academics

The Anthem Institute Parsippany is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges, which is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. It is also approved and licensed under the jurisdiction of the New Jersey Department of Education and the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development. It is a member organization of the Better Business Bureau, the Career College Association, the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators, the New Jersey Private School Association and the Parsippany Area Chamber of Commerce. Anthem Institute Parsippany offers students various graduate and alumni benefits. Graduates of career training programs have the ability to return for skill retraining or updating under the Quality Commitment Program. These refresher courses are free of charge, and allow students to stay on top of their game while working in their chosen field. Additionally, career services assistance is provided to all students who have graduated or successfully completed a training program, even years after program completion.

While the majority of classes are taught at the Anthem Institute’s Parsippany campus, students may elect from a flexible course schedule of both day and evening classes. Some online courses may also be available to students, who should consult directly with Anthem Institute for a listing of all current course offerings.

Anthem Institute-Parsippany Admissions

When applying to Anthem Institute Parsippany Admissions Representatives are available to answer any specific questions or inquiries. Admissions requirements are straightforward, although the order of the application process differs from many schools in that the student must meet with admissions, and then apply.

Requirement for admissions are as follows: The candidate must speak and write fluently in English, must be a high school graduate or have a high school equivalency (GED) diploma, and must pass the Anthem Institute Entrance Assessment Test. Upon verification of these requirements being met, the student will meet with an Admissions Rep, and then complete the Application Packet- including the official application, transcripts or prior education verification, an enrollment agreement, and payment of the registration fee.

Once a student has been accepted to Anthem Institute Parsippany he or she may begin the application process for financial aid. Some students may qualify for Federal Aid, including federal grants and loans, or military or veterans Federal Military Aid under the G.I. Bill. Some students may be interested in the Institution Loan Program as an alternative or supplement to federal financial aid- which personalizes loan packages based on the student’s needs and circumstances.

Anthem Institute-Parsippany Students

Anthem Institute Parsippany provides a variety of student and alumni services throughout the student’s time studying at the Institute, and long after graduation. Services like job placement assistance and interview preparation, private tutoring, review classes and supplemental laboratory time are free of charge to students. The Anthem Institute is not all work and no play, as student activities are also regularly scheduled by Student Services. Students enjoy social gatherings like picnics, sports games and contests while meeting and getting their peers and mentors in a relaxed, casual setting. As the Anthem Institute Parsippany is a commuter campus, students take advantage of the Student Services to get to know one another.

Anthem Institute-Parsippany Athletics

While the Anthem Institute Parsippany does not field any inter-collegiate sports teams, the Township of Parsippany Recreation department does offer a range of adult men’s and women’s sports including tennis, softball and volleyball.

Anthem Institute-Parsippany Local Community

The Parsippany-Troy Hills Township, more commonly known as Parsippany, is located in Morris County New Jersey. Local transportation includes the Parsippany Transit free-to-residents two-route bus service. Parsippany is traversed by the New Jersey Transit Morristown Line train via the Mount Tabor station which provides service to and from Penn Station in Midtown Manhattan, New York, and the Hoboken, New Jersey, Terminal. Other educational institutes in Morris County are the County College of Morris, a two-year public community college, the Roman Catholic women’s college Assumption College for Sisters, the Fairleigh Dickinson University College at Florham, Drew University and the College of Saint Elizabeth. Students enjoy local attractions like the New Jersey Coastal Heritage Trail Route and the many beaches of the Jersey Shore, and the Morristown National Historic Park. On the weekends students can enjoy the many cinemas, restaurants and retail shopping locations in Parsippany, the many area public parks and forests, or make the short trip into Manhattan to enjoy New York City nightlife.
