Briarcliffe College is a career-focused institution accredited by The Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. The college offers a variety of associate and bachelor degrees within five academic programs: business administration, accounting, criminal justice, digital photography, and graphic design.
The associate degrees include:
- Associate in Applied Science in Accounting
- Associate in Applied Science in Business Administration
- Associate in Science in Criminal Justice
- Associate in Applied Science in Graphic Design
- Associate in Applied Science in Computer Networking
The college also offers bachelor degrees in the following:
- Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting
- Bachelor of Business Administration with concentrations in one of the following areas of study: Management, Marketing, or Information Technology
- Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design
In addition, online degree programs are open to students interested in a more flexible learning environment. Students interested in online programs must be enrolled in a degree program, either part-time or full-time.

The college is open to all students interested in furthering their education, who have graduated with a diploma from a secondary school or equivalent, or are transferring from another institution. Prospective students are required to contact Admissions for instructions on how to apply.
The financial aid office offers several options. Students may be eligible for grants, loans, scholarships, and student employment. All qualified students must fill out a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) which can be completed online.
Financial aid options include Federal Academic Competiveness Grant (ACG), New York State Tuition Assistance Program (TAP), National Science and Math Access to Retain Talent Grant (SMART), Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity (FSEOG), Federal Work-Study, Federal Pell Grant, and Federal Family Educational Loan Programs. In addition, the college awards merit, transfer, and athletic scholarships to qualified students.

Career Services works with area businesses in assisting students with employment options whether it is part-time while attending college, or after graduation when seeking entry-level positions.
Students have a choice of three campuses:
- Bethpage campuslocated in historic Bethpage, New York, on Long Island
- Patchogue campusfound on the southern shore of Long Island, New York; and
- Queenslocated just minutes from Manhattan, in Long Island City

The athletics departments offers several sports for students interested in competitive team sports while pursuing an academic degree. For men the sports options are bowling, lacrosse, baseball, and soccer. Womens sports choices include basketball, volleyball, softball, and bowling.
The mens and womens bowling teams are members of the United States Bowling Congress (USBC). Both teams play approximately 15 certified tournaments per year.
All other sports teams including mens baseball, lacrosse and soccer, as well as womens basketball, volleyball, and softball, are part of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA). The school mascot is the Seahawk.
