The Bryant and Stratton College, founded in 1854, is a network of small campuses focusing on a career-oriented education for its students. Day, evening, and even online courses are available and all campuses have a wide selection of associate degrees that can be earned, while some have added bachelor’s degrees.
The Syracuse location is a bit unique because it offers residence halls for students. In addition, the Bobcats, the school’s athletic teams, participate in NCJAA Soccer and Cross Country for both men and women. The college is located in downtown Syracuse, close to the bustling arts and music scene with nearby restaurants and nightlife.
Since the Syracuse campus is a satellite location, not all programs are offered here. However, they do offer Associate of Applied Science degrees in the following categories:
- Criminal Justice
- Hospitality Management – Restaurant & Hotel Services
- Human Resources Specialist
- Medical Administrative Assistant
- Networking Technology
- Office Management
Syracuse only offers one bachelor’s degree, a BS in Health Services Administration, a degree that will provide students with a solid background in healthcare administration as well as training in office management to help prepare for a career working in a clinic or hospital.
The Medical Office Assistant diploma can be earned in two semesters, which will allow the graduate to start a career in a medical office helping with the files, documentation, and computer systems relatively quickly. The credits earned in this program can be applied towards an associate’s degree in Medical Administrative Assistant, if the student wishes to continue on in that direction at some point.
Most Popular Fields of Study
Applications for admission are available online or in the Admissions office on campus. Semesters start in January, May, and September and it is highly encouraged that students apply long before the beginning of the semester. Interested high school students should contact the college in their Junior year so a tour can be arranged, paperwork filled out, and advising completed.
The school requires a high school diploma or GED, and does accept transfer credits from other institutions.
The school provides a wide range of opportunities for financial aid and students should contact the school and set up an appointment with an advisor to go over financing options. Many students qualify for a package that contains a mixture of scholarships, grants, paid internships, and loans which will help make this education affordable.
Scholarships are awarded, and students should investigate and apply for one if they qualify:

The Bobcats are a member of NJCAA and students can participate in soccer and men’s and women’s cross country.
Additional School Information
The college offers a great online program where many of the school’s degrees can be earned on the student’s own timetable since there is no set class time. The program is ideal for military personal and their families, since the school has a long tradition of working with those who serve our country and is VA certified. Spouses can even qualify for a $6000 scholarship to help offset tuition costs.
To apply, contact the online school and set up an interview. Once that is completed, the student can officially apply and must provide a writing sample and any academic transcripts.
This for-profit network of schools is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.
