    Founded in 1924,Nazareth College is an independent, co-educational institution with a liberal arts and sciences core, located in the Rochester, New York suburb of Pittsford. Nazareth College offers four-year undergraduate programs, as well as masters degree programs in a wide variety of fields and a Doctorate of Physical Therapy. “The mission of Nazareth College is to provide a learning community that educates students in the liberal arts, sciences, visual and performing arts, and professional fields, fostering commitment to a life informed by intellectual, ethical, spiritual, and aesthetic values; Nazareth offers more than 40 undergraduate programs, and more than 20 graduate degree programs. Each of these academic programs fits into one or more of the following academic departments: Each undergraduate degree program also has a set of liberal arts core requirements, known as Perspectives courses. This program combines Bachelors, Masters, and Doctoral degrees in Physical Therapy into a six-year program. Special Education, Reading Education, Early Childhood Education, and other programs were created during this time, due to increased demand for teachers. In the 1980s, the school of human services was expanded to include Art Therapy, Music Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology/Communication Science and Disorders, and a five-year degree program in Health Sciences/Physical Therapy. The College also underwent a reoganization of its academic departments into the College of Arts and Sciences, the School of Education, the School of Health and Human Services and the School of Management. Over 90% of its students participate in some form of community service during their college careers, and the school has an active campus ministry program to connect students to various volunteer organizations.

    Admission policy is currently Percent applicants admitted: 79% and Percent of students who return for sophomore year: 84%. Remember that this can change at any time. Transfer student are not ignored. Specifically, there were four hundred total number of transfer students who applied and two hundred and sixty-four total number of transfer students who were admitted.
