If you are considering majoring in any of the arts, Potsdam has to be on your short-list of best choices. Compared to the many private schools we looked at, from NYC up to Saratoga. . . .all inclusive. . . . SUNY Potsdam had some of the best, most well-maintained facilities and actual professors, whose primary reason for being is teaching, not filling-in income for a failing private career. Real teachers. . . .not adjuncts or assistants. A safe, enriching environment within a lovely, medium-sized town. . . . 1.5 hrs from Ottawa ! Potsdam's distance from NYC and LI makes it seem
like an afterthought, but my experience is that this school would be considered at the very top if it were closer to the NYC area. Then again, the charm of the Potsdam area and college would not be the gem that it is now. Worth a close look !
Stay a couple of days, drive around and see what the school and the area has to offer.
