Introduction

Delaware County Community College (DC Cubed) is a community college in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, part of the greater Philadelphia area. The college has branch campuses is Marple, Sharon Hill, Upper Darby, Downingtown, Exton, Phoenixville, and West Grove. The school was formed through the citizen’s group Action for the Community College in the late 1960’s.

The college has transfer agreements with an impressive range of 4-year schools in the area, including but not limited to Drexel University, Albright College, Eastern University, La Salle University, Neumann University, Rosemont College, Temple Uniersity, and Widener University. Students

Although the college is commuter only with no housing on campus, there is a rich diversity of clubs and activities for students. Clubs include such offerings as the Black Student Union, Campus Bible Fellowship, Delaware Valley Computer Assisted Design Club, Gay Straight Alliance Literature Club, Multicultural Club, and more.

The Student Government Association is the voice of the student body on campus. Student publications include the Communitarian Student Newspaper and Pegasus Magazine. Students run the on-campus radio station as well, WDCR.

DCCC has a few particularly interesting features on their campus that are not common among community college. The campus features a Computer Assisted Design and a solar laboratory. One of the newer features to the Learning Commons is the Technology Toy Box, a place to get hands-on with the newest in mobile technologies.

Athletics

The athletic department is a member of the Eastern Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference. The Phantoms field competitive teams in baseball, men’s basketball, women’t basketball, golf, soccer, tennis, and volleyball. In addition, there is a wide range of intramural athletics for recreational athletes on campus.
