    Gannon University (Gannon) is a private, Catholic university located in Erie, Pennsylvania. The name of the college was changed to Gannon College, in honor of John Mark Gannon, Archbishop of Erie, in 1933. The college was all male until the mid-1960s when the first women began taking classes at the school while attending Gannon’s all-female counterpart, Villa Maria College. Gannon University is primarily known for its large number of pre-professional health science, health science fields, and engineering program.
