Academics

The MBA Program offers the Master of Business Administration (MBA) with 3 options: applied business, criminal justice, and leadership. The most popular courses are Organizational Behavior and Human Resources Management.

Thirty-six total credits are required to complete the MBA (applied business option), including 9 elective credits. Required courses for the MBA (applied business option) include:

Students may eliminate or substitute requirements by transferring up to 9 graduate credits.

The minimum time permitted to complete the master’s degree program attending full time or part time is 1 year; maximum, 7 years.

There are 8 total full-time graduate business faculty, of whom 67% hold a doctorate; there are 2 part-time faculty. Faculty salaries are rated below average for Category IIB institutions, based on the AAUP rating system. Average number of credit hours faculty teach is 3; average business class size is 25.

Admissions

A bachelor’s degree is required. Most important admissions factors are academic accomplishments and ability, work experience, and extracurricular activities. A strong mathematics background is not required.

The number of applicants for a recent class was 245; 184 were accepted; 149 enrolled. Transfers are accepted. Minority students are actively recruited.

Students may begin the MBA program in the fall, spring, and summer. To apply, students must submit an application form, a transcript, GMAT scores, 2 letters of recommendation, and a current resume. Students must be at least 25 years old and have had 3 years of significant business experience. Students are notified approximately 1 week after the application is received of the admissions decision. Once accepted, students may defer admission for up to 1 year. Financial Aid

The GAPSFAS, FFS, or FAFSA, and the school’s own financial statement and the previous year’s tax return are required. Check with the school for current application deadlines.

Tuition for all students is $420 per credit. Graduate student housing is available in dormitories with undergraduate students.

Students

Nine percent of the current graduate business school class are enrolled full time; 90% have had full-time work experience prior to entering graduate school.
