One other fact that may be important. The Tri-Cities area consists of Bristol TN/VA, Kingsport, TN, and Johnson City, TN. The metro statistical area of the Tri-Cities is well over a quarter of a million people, with each of the three major cities reporting populations in excess of 60,000 people, not including county areas considered part of the Tri-Cities. The college itself is now located in Bristol, TN, not Bristol, VA since they built a new facility. (I believe this was around 2002 or so.) The campus now has easy access from the interstate, and is reachable from Kingsport or Johnson City in about 25 minutes.

Though lesser known than some other local schools, you will receive a solid education. Your teachers have generally practiced in the field that they teach, so your coursework is often more relevant and focused on the more useful aspects. Additionally, the instructor to student ratio is excellent, with your higher level classes often having less than 10 students. The schedule here is flexible, and the program tailored for working adults. Finally, there is one aspect that is often overlooked when comparing a school such as this with others. Unlike NSTCC or ETSU, National is a private for-profit college, which means they treat you like a customer. They understand that you have a choice to go elsewhere, and will generally do anything they can to help you, from the campus director on down to the secretary at the front. I began college long ago at NSTCC, and believe that I am receiving a better education at National.
