St. Cloud Technical College Academics

St. Cloud Technical College offers courses and degrees in many fields including business, construction technology, manufacturing technology, transportation technology and health and human services.

The Business Program at St. Cloud Technical College includes accounting, business management, and finance and credit. The business school also offers a farm business management program that is concerned with agricultural practices and land usage to turn a profit in farming. The school teaches modern day farm planning and business recordkeeping. The program is a six-year program with a three-year post diploma program available.

St. Cloud Technical College also offers a construction technology program with courses in carpentry, heating and air conditioning and plumbing. The architectural construction technology program teaches students blueprint reading, estimating and drafting techniques.

The Health and Human Service sector of the school delves into courses dealing with dental hygiene, paramedicine and sonography. An associate’s degree in Cardiovascular Technology is offered at St. Cloud. The program teaches students how to assist a cardiologist in performing diagnostic and interventional angioplasty and stent placement procedures among other skills.

The Transportation Technology program offers classes in auto body collision technology and medium/heavy truck technician. The Automotive Service Technician diploma prepares students to take the Automotive Service Excellence Exam and is certified by the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation.

Additional programs at St. Cloud include American Sign Language and emergency medical services.

St. Cloud Technical College Admissions

St. Cloud is committed to open admissions and requires a completion of a high school diploma or equivalent. A student may be admitted without a high school diploma but must demonstrate the potential to succeed in a college atmosphere. Students must also have a completed application form along with a non-refundable fee. There may be interviews or aptitude tests depending on the program.

Admission to the school does not automatically admit students to a desired major or program. Each program is subject to its own requirements.

St. Cloud Technical College Financial Aid

St. Cloud Technical College requires students to fill out the FAFSA form for financial consideration. The school offers many loans and scholarships including an SCTC Scholarship foundation as well as federal programs like the federal PLUS Loan. Students who receive financial aid must adhere to the Satisfactory Academic Progress program.

St. Cloud also offers Veteran’s benefits as part of its financial aid program.

The school also has work study programs for those who qualify.

St. Cloud Technical College Students

The Student Life and Athletics Office at St. Cloud Technical College offers an Evening Lecture Series of interactive discussions. Students can also attend for extra credit.

Students area also encouraged to participate in the Universities Rec Sports Department that offers classes in aerobics, yoga and massage therapy.

Intramural sports leagues abound at St. Cloud. Sports teams include basketball, flag football and dodge ball.

St. Cloud also gives students opportunities to join 18 student clubs on campus including Business Professionals of America and the American Dental Hygiene Association.

St. Cloud Technical College Athletics

St. Cloud participates in a variety of intercollegiate programs including men’s and women’s basketball, volleyball, baseball and softball.

Men’s baseball and women’s softball are part of the Minnesota College Athletic Conference in the NJCAA. Men’s and women’s basketball and volleyball compete in the Northern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. The school’s mascot is the Cyclones and their official colors are Green, Gold and Black.
