Introduction
United Technical Center is located in Clarksburg, West Virginia and works to provide a variety of students with an outlet to better educate and improve professionally. It specializes in vocational, career, and technical areas of interest and study and is open to students in high school as well as to adults wishing to further or return to their studies.

Academics
United Technical Center approaches education and improvement on work skills in a unique way. The school uses a combination of academic courses and practical hands-on training to set students apart as they enter into the work force. They not only learn how to do a job but they discover how versatile their mind may be through good work habits, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Basic academic courses are offered in Algebra II, Conceptual Mathematics, Applied Geometry, and English. In addition to these courses, there are several other areas of study.

Engineering and technical programs of study comprise a majority of academic and career interests at United Technical Center. Students can study in the following areas:
Automotive Technology
Collision Repair Technology
Drafting
Electrical Technology
Electronics Technology
General Building Construction
Industrial Equipment Maintenance
Machine Tool Technology
Masonry
Welding Technology
Almost all of these areas of study are one to two-year programs in which students receive practical application skills.
Arts and Humanities Cluster
Students interested in Graphic Communications (Printing) will benefit immensely from this program. It encompasses various aspects of printing such as copy preparation, computer layout and typesetting, plate making skills, press operation, even sales and management skills. Whichever area you wish to begin a career in graphic communications, United Technical Center has the courses and instructors to best benefit your professional goals. Like most programs at United Technical Center, this is a two-year program.
Health Science Education Cluster
There are several programs at United Technical Center that cater to a variety of students with diverse educational backgrounds. The Practical Nursing program is geared more toward post-secondary students who have an interest in bedside nursing care. Health Occupations Science Technology and Medical Assisting are more for beginners to the health care field; whether they are recent high school graduates are adults looking to make a career change.
Human Services
The Human Services areas of study at United Technical Center serve to prepare students for a career related to various interactive services. Students can complete certificate programs in Cosmetology, Emergency and Fire Management Services, and ProStart Restaurant Management.
