Society of Manufacturing Engineers Education Foundation

Grants, Student Loans, & Fellowships

The Society of Manufacturing Engineers Education Foundation was founded nearly 30 years ago to help students in science, engineering and math courses and encourage them to pursue careers in the field. They work to provide educational opportunities and financial support to all students who aspire to work in the field of manufacturing and engineering. They see today’s youth as the future of the workforce and believe that in order for society to succeed, they must work with them in order to guarantee a positive future in the field of engineering and manufacturing.

In the approximate 30 years the society has been functioning, they have helped over 15,000 young students explore careers in engineering, mathematics, science and technology. They have invested nearly $5 million in youth programs to promote these careers. The society has also given over $4 million in scholarships to students obtaining a higher education in the field, and invested over $17 million in grants to more than 30 colleges to help them develop curriculum relevant to the science, engineering and math industry. The society offers over 100 scholarships to students who plan to pursue an education and career in the field. There are scholarships available for graduating high school students, enrolled undergraduate students as well as graduate students. The society promotes and encourages higher education opportunities for students in all levels of education and seeks to provide opportunities so no student will have to offset their education due to financial setbacks.
