Academics

The Institute’s accreditation is granted by the Florida Commission for Independent Education and also approved by other accrediting bodies such as Institutional Accreditation Approvals, Workforce Innovation, and Veterans Administration Approvals.

The institute offers classes and certification programs in diagnostic medical sonography, X-ray technician, medical assistant, nuclear medicine technologist, nursing assistant, patient care technician, phlebotomy technician, licensed practical nursing (lpn), radiation therapy, and radiologic technology. Externship training is also available for most programs.

Continuing education units are also offered for several of the licensed careers. Those who possess an active license as an LPN, RN, CNA, or BMO can attend the continuing education training programs which are approved and registered by the Florida Board of Health. The courses offered include IV Infusion / Therapy, HIV/AIDS Update, Reducing Medical Errors, Palliative Care, Assisting with Medication Administration, Alzheimer’s Disease Updates, and Current Ethics Issues in Healthcare.

The school has a chapter of HOSA – Future Health Professionals, which is an organization for high school and post-secondary students that was designed to help prepare and provide networking opportunities and professional development for students planning to enter the healthcare industry.

Applicants must identify the program that best suits their needs, fill out an online application form, and visit the campus to meet with a representative to further discuss regarding the financial aid options available. Prospective students must send proof of their high school diploma or GED to the institute. The student body is comprised of individuals from all walks of life, spanning diverse age groups, and most important of all, experiencing life in various ways. The student-centered approach to training is designed to build confidence and professionalism in students. It also instills and develops the clinical skills needed to perform the responsibilities of the chosen field of study. The institute is a proud Alpha Omicron Chapter of the Florida for Alpha Beta Kappa National Honors Society. Each year a candidate is selected from each program to meet the Honors Criteria and they are inducted through ceremony into the ABK Honor Society.

The Career Center helps the students find their place in the health care industry. The department authorities meet the students as early as the admissions process to further discuss on the career fields. The department strives to steer the mindset of the students towards career oriented thinking. The institute helps the students accomplish their goal, addressing every aspect of their lives. Cambridge provides assistance and support to their students even after completing graduation.
