Academics

Although it is part of the Fortis system of schools that offers various health related programs, the Winter Park campus only offers classes in Medical Assisting. Students can earn an associate’s degree or a diploma, and the program educates students for an entry-level type of position in a medical office or clinic. Skills in office administration, operating computer programs that deal with patient information and scheduling, and even basic level clinical work are explored to give students the ability needed to succeed in this field.

All classes are conducted in the classroom, since hybrid and online learning is not available for this program.

Students

Because of the technical nature of much of the curriculum, students will have many opportunities to bond with one another during instruction hours. Anyone having a hard time with studies can take advantage of the tutoring or help with test-taking available in this office. As students come closer to graduation, this office will become an excellent resource in terms of building a resume and gearing up for important job interviews.
