In 2008, the university was awarded the U.S. Department of Commerce Export Achievement Certificate, which is given out annually to about 40 honorees. The award is unique for because instead of citing excellence in exporting traditional goods, the school is honored for its educational opportunities between its campus and China. Students who earn an associate degree in Hospitality Management at the partner school in China, the Nanjing College of Chemical Technology, can come to Pompano Beach to earn their Bachelor of Science degree in the same field.
All applicants must complete an application and an enrollment agreement prior to beginning classes. Prospective students who want to transfer credits from an accredited school must include an official transcript as part of their application.
The university strives to admit anyone who is willing to attend classes, regardless of their situation. However, applicants do need one of the following before they can enroll as students: a high school diploma or the equivalent (GED), successful completion of an entrance exam or a personal interview with an admissions representative.
Students are offered free individual consultations to determine the best financing arrangement for their needs and situation. As an accredited post-secondary institution, The Financial Aid office offers federal financial assistance programs to those who are eligible, in addition to numerous state, local and private funding programs.
The curriculum at this school focuses heavily on hands-on teaching methods, and relies less on lecture-based classes. Students use the school’s laboratories for much of their training. Students have the choice of day, evening and online classes so they can create a learning schedule that fits around their family and work life.
The campus offers spacious classrooms, laboratories, a student lounge and administrative offices. It is located in the township of Pompano Beach, which includes three miles of scenic beachfront property.

Accreditation is granted by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges Schools to award associate’s, bachelor’s and master’s degrees. The school is also authorized under federal law to enroll nonimmigrant alien students. The university is also approved for the training of veterans and all payment, scholarship, and grant programs for veterans apply.
