Virginia College-Pensacola is one of the many campuses of Virginia College. In 1983, Virginia College was established by the Atlantis Group, Inc., and in 1989, it was sold to Career Futures, Inc. in Feb 1992, the very first branch campus of the college was opened in Birmingham, Alabama, and in 1995 this became the institution’s main campus. The second branch of Virginia College opened in Huntsville, Alabama in April 1993. The College received Senior College Recognition from ACICS (Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges & Schools) in 1997. In Mid 1999, the Education Corporation of America bought over Virginia College. The College currently has over 18 campuses various locations. The Virginia College-Pensacola branch was established in July 2001.
