Founded in 1877, Globe University and Minnesota School of Business (GU/MSB) has served students from from Greater Minnesota and adjacent states for over 130 years. Since its establishment, the school has had a single and steadfast focus goal of providing practical education that prepares graduates for employment opportunities. Globe University has campuses located in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and South Dakota.


Globe is a private school providing specialized career training programs in diverse areas of study such as business, medical, legal, information technology, and creative media. It is accredited by Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools to award Master of Business Administration (MBA) degrees, Master of Science degrees, Bachelor of Science degrees, Associate in Applied Science degrees, diplomas and certificates. The school is also a member of the Globe Education Network.

As a career college, the school has one clear focus to help students achieve their personal and professional goals. Some of the scholarships offered include Active Duty Military Scholarship, Business Alliance Scholarship, Community Service Scholarship, Cosmetology Business Scholarship, Director’s Academic Scholarship, Dream Act Scholarship, High School Advantage, Unite For Success Scholarship, Military Advantage Scholarship, and Purple Heart Scholarship.

The federal and state grants offered at the schools are Federal Pell Grant, Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG), Federal Subsidized and Unsubsidized Stafford Loan, Federal Parent Loan for Undergraduate Students (PLUS), Minnesota State Grant, Minnesota Post-Secondary Child Care Grant, and Minnesota Student Educational Loan Fund (SELF). Student life offers new learning opportunities and growth prospects. As a student at GU/MSB, you will work closely with instructors who have rich experience in your field of interest. This will help you network with the industry professionals and develop healthy friendships with your future colleagues. The student body is diverse as there are students from diverse backgrounds, preparing for careers in different fields such as business management, nursing, medical assisting, information technology, video production, and massage therapy.

Throughout the academic year, students get the opportunity to get involved in the various student associations, events and activities on the campus. Some of the campus life highlights include the Music Business event in Minneapolis, the Rochester Student Ambassador Sale, the Richfield Book Club, the Brooklyn Center parenting seminar, the Blaine Minnesota Food Share drive, St. Cloud’s Medical Club, and the Woodbury Student Ambassadors.

GU/MSB has a well-stocked library that houses a wide variety of books, journals, magazines, and reference materials. The library can also be accessed online – anytime, anywhere. The online database includes an extensive collection of over 9,000 ebooks, articles, and journals. There is also a librarian available to assist students in case of any problems.

Additional School Information

This university offers a range of career services to help the students find their own place in the global workforce. The Center trains students on how to write an effective resume and cover letter, along with tips on attending a personal and phone interview. It also teaches the techniques and strategies to be used for searching the right kind of job. Students are also encouraged to attend the various job fairs as they provide an opportunity to obtain information on job openings, company history, careers, salary expectations, industrial growth trends, and requirements for a job. The career center also provides tips on attending a job fair and how to deal with multiple companies at one time.
