Truett-McConnell College is a private, Christian, coeducational college of liberal arts and sciences, operated under the auspices of the Baptist Convention of the State of Georgia and controlled by a Board of Trustees elected by the Convention. After more than half a century as a two-year college, in December 2002 the institution was approved by its accrediting agency (the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools) to offer four-year degrees. In December 2005, the college was approved to begin two additional bachelor’s degree programs: a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Studies and a Bachelor of Science in Education with a concentration in early childhood education.
