Academics

Our Lady of Holy Cross College (OLHCC) is dedicated to small classes and individual attention. The school offers an array of undergraduate programs including allied health, history, and theology among others. OLHCC also has a developing graduate program offering a Master of Arts in Education as well as a Master of Arts in Theology.

The school provides undergraduate programs for students looking to enter the field of medicine. There are four programs to choose from including pre-medicine, pre-dentistry, pre-pharmacy, and pre-veterinarian medicine. All pre-professional bachelor’s degree programs require a minimum grade of C and a 2.5 GPA in professional course work.

Our Lady of Holy Cross College also offers many programs online including a Nursing Program that leads to a Registered Nursing degree. OLHCC considers its academic support services to be top notch and provides its students with online tutorials in writing, placement and proficiency testing, and many pre-college courses designed to help developing college students.

Admissions

Our Lady of Holy Cross College offers an open enrollment to all candidates including high school graduates, students holding their GED, and transfer students from accredited universities. The school requires a non-refundable application fee for first time students and all paperwork for admission must be received three weeks prior to the first day of registration. OLHCC does accept online applications.

Our Lady of Holy Cross College delivers college credit classes to high school students by way of the High School Scholars Outreach Program. The program offers students who have completed their sophomore year to start taking college classes early with written permission by their principal.

Graduate admissions require a completed written application form along with a written essay discussing the student’s career goals, official transcripts from previous course work, and three letters of recommendation. The school also asks for aptitude test scores from the Graduate Record Examination for the counseling and theology programs or the Millers Analogies Test for Education programs.

Financial Aid

The financial aid staff at OLHCC are members of the Office of Enrollment Services and are dedicated to helping students with their financial needs.

Enrollment counselors are in the office from 8:30 AM until 5:00 PM Monday through Friday. Appointments may be scheduled at these times, however, walk-ins are accepted.

All counselors are appointed to students according to their last name.

Students

OHLCC was founded in 1916 and is located minutes from downtown New Orleans. Founded by the Ministry of Marianites of Holy Cross, the school sticks closely to its Catholic ideals. The Office of the Campus Ministry is a place for students who need an environment that fosters support. There are also many faith- based activities at the school including prayer groups, retreats and evenings of reflection.

Volunteer groups are a staple of the student body. The annual “Bread for the World/Walk for the Hungry” gives the students a chance to help the community by volunteering their time assisting those in need.

The Student Governing Body at OHLCC is centered around getting every student involved and encourages all students to get involved.

Anytime Fitness is a 24 hour a day gym located seconds from the campus.

Along with the school activities on campus, New Orleans is a town rich with culture and excitement and offers a host of activities within and around the city.

Athletics

OHLCC offers many sports on and off campus including bowling, flag football, softball, soccer and volleyball. The school is not affiliated with an intercollegiate athletics program.
