The Student Government Association represents the student’s best interest as it speaks for the entire student body. Students are allowed to make suggestions in coordinating student activities and make recommendations to President’s Council on issues of concern. Student representatives and officers are elected at the fall and spring picnics which are held on the Main Campus in Moberly.

Brothers Ox

Brothers Ox was established in 1928 as the first honorary service organization of the College. Brothers Ox was organized with the purpose of increasing college spirit and sponsoring worthy projects for the benefit of the student body. The honorary service organization was created as a means to decrease student negativity while doing something positive.

Greyhound Cheerleaders

The Greyhound cheerleaders are the soaring spirit for the Greyhound sports teams. The cheerleaders are obligated to attend games on site and away from campus. The cheerleading squad participates equally in both the Greyhounds and Lady Greyhounds sports. A new squad is selected each spring for the following school year through a tryout process. Men and women are both encouraged to apply. Each person must submit an application and a letter of recommendation from their high school coach. Each applicant is assigned and interview day and time with the MACC cheerleader sponsor and is required to perform a cheering routine in front of a panel of judges. A total of eight cheerleading scholarships are awarded; however, more than eight cheerleaders may be selected for the squad.

Alumni

The Moberly Area Community College Alumni Association/Foundation was officially established in the late 1970’s in order to provide a base for fundraising. The Alumni department of MACC successfully campaigned and raised 2.5 million dollars in one of the biggest fundraisers to reconstruct the Main Building. Previously, the Foundation and the Alumni Association had shared the same space for several years. Then as it grew, the two were separated. The alumni became the main fund raising source for the College. One of the most important functions of the Alumni Association is to keep in touch with former graduates, and the school depends on their contributions to fund successful programs for new and old students as well as school activities.

The Alumni committee is made up of several distinguished alumni. The officers include the Director, several alumni officers and other alumni members who meet several times a year to plan yearly activities. This committee is responsible for coming up with ideas to make the organization efficient. One of its most important responsibilities is to plan the annual Alumni and Friends Banquet held every April.
