Skills USA’s purpose is to prepare America’s high performance workers to become dignified leaders. It provides quality education experiences for students in leadership, teamwork, citizenship, and character development. Admissions

A prospective student may apply to Moberly Area Community College in person or online. The prospective student will need to provide their high school transcripts or GED certification, or their college transfer information as part of the application process. Each student will also need to visit the campus and meet with financial aid officers to discuss the need for financial assistance. A placement test will be given, such as the COMPASS test. Following testing, each student will then meet with an academic advisor to discuss an academic plan.

Financial Aid

Moberly encourages every student to try their best in financing their own education. MACC also understands that financing college can be costly. Therefore MACC does its part in offering students some financial resources. Financial Aid at Moberly is available in the form of grants, loans, work-study, scholarships, or a combination of these options. Most financial assistance is awarded to students who can demonstrate financial need, but specific awards may have additional eligibility requirements. To be eligible for financial aid the applicant must have been accepted for admission or already be enrolled at the College, and meet the financial requirements as established by the College. All students are encouraged to complete the free federal aid application online (FAFSA), and to consult with the Office of Financial Aid if there are questions.

Students

An active student life is a part of the Moberly way. Students have the option of participating in several clubs and organizations to add to their college experience and to enhance their abilities to work collectively.

Student Government Association

The Student Government Association (SGA) acts as a liaison between Moberly students and the College’s administration. The Student Government Association represents the student’s best interest as it speaks for the entire student body. Students are allowed to make suggestions in coordinating student activities and make recommendations to President’s Council on issues of concern. Student representatives and officers are elected at the fall and spring picnics which are held on the Main Campus in Moberly.

Brothers Ox

Brothers Ox was established in 1928 as the first honorary service organization of the College. Brothers Ox was organized with the purpose of increasing college spirit and sponsoring worthy projects for the benefit of the student body. The honorary service organization was created as a means to decrease student negativity while doing something positive.

Greyhound Cheerleaders

The Greyhound cheerleaders are the soaring spirit for the Greyhound sports teams. The cheerleaders are obligated to attend games on site and away from campus. The cheerleading squad participates equally in both the Greyhounds and Lady Greyhounds sports. A new squad is selected each spring for the following school year through a tryout process. Men and women are both encouraged to apply. Each person must submit an application and a letter of recommendation from their high school coach. Each applicant is assigned and interview day and time with the MACC cheerleader sponsor and is required to perform a cheering routine in front of a panel of judges. A total of eight cheerleading scholarships are awarded; however, more than eight cheerleaders may be selected for the squad.

Delta Epsilon Chi

Delta Epsilon Chi (DEC) is a student business organization. Membership is open to all Moberly students who are interested in marketing or business management.

International Association of Administrative Professionals

Membership in the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) is open to MACC students majoring in Business and Office Technology. This particular program encourages the development of leadership and communication skills and assists students in their professional development.

Multicultural Student Club

The MACC Multicultural Student Club (MCSC) is a welcoming unit that fosters cultural ties through diversity, no matter what the background, religious affiliation or color of the person. The club is a place where students come together to learn, understand, and appreciate different cultures and customs that underline a rich diversity. Activities include social gatherings, participation in the fall MACC International Education Week, and the spring International Fair. All MACC American and International students are welcome to join.

Phi Theta Kappa

Phi Theta Kappa, also known as PTK, has been repeatedly recognized at the MACC for its academic excellence. Phi theta kappa has become one of the largest and one of the most scholarly honor societies serving two-year colleges around the world. MACC’s Alpha Tau Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa is also a club of distinction. This historical organizations purpose is to promote and recognize service and leadership among its members and the community at large.

Student Enrollment Demographics

Alumni

The Moberly Area Community College Alumni Association/Foundation was officially established in the late 1970’s in order to provide a base for fundraising. The Alumni department of MACC successfully campaigned and raised 2.5 million dollars in one of the biggest fundraisers to reconstruct the Main Building. Previously, the Foundation and the Alumni Association had shared the same space for several years. Then as it grew, the two were separated. The alumni became the main fund raising source for the College. One of the most important functions of the Alumni Association is to keep in touch with former graduates, and the school depends on their contributions to fund successful programs for new and old students as well as school activities.

The Alumni committee is made up of several distinguished alumni. The officers include the Director, several alumni officers and other alumni members who meet several times a year to plan yearly activities. This committee is responsible for coming up with ideas to make the organization efficient. One of its most important responsibilities is to plan the annual Alumni and Friends Banquet held every April.
