Athletics

Students attending PSU – Leigh Valley can choose from participating in either the intercollegiate sports, intramural sports, or club sports programs. As with Penn State, the mascot on campus is still the lion. For those who are interested in intramural sports, it is possible to participate in basketball, volleyball, or flag football teams. Both students and faculty play intramural sports, while intercollegiate sports are more the realm of exclusively student athletes. A member of the United States Collegiate Athletic Associate, PSU – Leigh Valley student athletes compete on a national level and are also eligible for school-sponsored student athletics scholarships. The intercollegiate teams at Pennsylvania State University- Penn State Lehigh Valley include gold, tennis, and cross country. Students compete in a conference with other students who are also attending classes on the various different Penn State University campuses.

Club sports are less official than either intercollegiate or intramural teams, but provide a great chance to get to know other students and to work off some steam and have some fun. Some of the club sports teams on campus include the bowling club, the outdoors club, the gold club, the running club, and the ski club.
