Local Community

Bristol was the site of one of the most famous events in American history – the crossing of the Delaware by George Washington and his army en route to an attack on British-funded Hessian soldiers stationed in neighboring New Jersey. Area residents will be happy to point interested parties to Washington’s Crossing. Besides the historical nature of Bristol and its many Revolutionary-era structures, its proximity to Philadelphia and Trenton will be useful for travel and cultural explorations. Philadelphia is home to many world-class museums, including the Barnes Foundation in Overbrook, the Rodin Museum near the River Drive and the Philadelphia Art Museum which is positioned on a direct axis from the grand City Hall.
